Huxley Perdu is a man wrestling with insecurity and the guilt of a deteriorating marriage to his wife, Sassa. When Huxley and his optimistic brother, Monty, land prestigious jobs at the renowned Behaart, Kahl, and Fett company, Huxley’s life becomes increasingly chaotic, both in his demanding career and at home, causing distance between Huxley and Sassa to grow, culminating in a disaster, which leaves him stranded on a deserted island with Monty, as well as prompting cryptic dream-like visions of the life he is missing. As Huxley confronts his emotional burdens—jealousy toward Monty and unresolved issues with Sassa—he is forced to reckon with his past mistakes. Meanwhile, Sassa remains in civilization, dealing with the unraveling of their marriage from afar, as well as the question of Huxley’s survival. Isolated and faced with the stark realities of his flaws, Huxley must grapple with whether he can ever redeem himself or if the distance between him and the people he loves is irrevocable, and if he will ever be able to escape his isolation, both physically and psychologically.
